Up to this point, Google guaranteed 2 years of Android version updates to Nexus/Pixel devices. We were wondering if other StockDroids followed suit.
Out of 22 phones released in 2014, just 9 are on Marshmallow. ~40.9% followed Google’s standards.
2017 isn’t over yet, but we can get a glimpse. Out of 39 phones released in 2015, 30 (!) are yet to roll out Nougat. 12 doesn’t even have Marshmallow! There’s a lot of catching up to do with 6 months left and only ~23% updated phones.
So Stock Android doesn’t mean New Android, but hey – no TouchWiz!
